The non-self-propelled diesel-electric suction dredger "Volzhsky-306" (project 324), owned by the Vyatka branch of the FBU "Administration of the Volga Basin of Inland Waterways", has begun dredging operations on the Vyatka River. This was reported by the press service of Rosmorrechflot.
Rosmorrechflot, under an agreement with the government of the Kirov Region, will ensure navigation safety on the Vyatka River. The work is being carried out in the Kirov city area on the 685 km-675 km section. The agreement also provides for deepening the bottom on the 68-102 km section.
Cargo shipping on the Vyatka River resumed in 2024. The authorities of the Kirov Region expect to make the entire Vyatka River navigable and restore regular passenger transportation. As of 2026, the length of the river with guaranteed shipping lane dimensions is 68.1 km.
"Volzhsky-306" is a technical fleet vessel, built in 1977 at the Ulyanov-Lenin Shipyard (now Chkalovskaya Shipyard in the Nizhny Novgorod Region). The dredger is registered in the village of Medvedok in the Kirov Region.
