Crews of T-90M and T-72B3 tanks have for the first time begun using modified standard tank smoke grenade launchers for protection against drones. Tanker with the call sign Dzhin spoke about the details of the modernized "Tucha" system.
According to him, the military replaces the smoke composition of the grenade with bolts and nuts. They also equip the tank with cameras for all-round visibility.
Seeing a drone through the camera, they press the shot, and instead of a smoke shell, this shrapnel flies out, a bunch of bolts and nuts fall on the drone.
Recall that basic active protection systems for armored vehicles consist of radars that detect the approach of ammunition, and protective shells. The APS equipment initiates the launch of a specific munition to intercept the threat.
Earlier it became known that Uralvagonzavod is developing a new generation tank with elements of robotization and artificial intelligence.
