Details Emerge on the Development of the Su-75 Checkmate Fighter

Russia and Belarus continue joint work on the combat aircraft

Russia and Belarus are jointly working on the creation of the single-engine fifth-generation fighter Su-75 Checkmate. This was reported by the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSVTS).

The agency emphasized that it is incorrect to call the Su-75 an alternative to the Su-57E, because these are machines of completely different classes.

Currently, work is underway with Belarusian partners on a wide variety of projects in the field of development and production of various aviation equipment, including the Su-75 aircraft.

The estimated cost of the Checkmate was estimated at $30 million. For comparison, the basic version of the F-35 costs $80 million and up.

Sergey Bogdan, head of the Sukhoi design bureau's flight service, promised that the first flight of the Su-75 would take place in early 2026, but as of the end of May, there is no news about the project.
