BELAZ sends new 45-ton dump truck to Norilsk mines

The machine's 550-hp engine was specially adapted for underground operations

A new BELAZ-75855 mine dump truck with a payload capacity of 45 tons, designed by BELAZ for operation in confined mine workings, will be sent to underground mines in Norilsk.

The machine is designed as a specialized solution for underground mining and is intended to address the tasks of transporting rock mass in a confined and aggressive environment.

The design emphasizes frame strength, maneuverability, and crew safety. The reinforced articulated frame with cast elements is designed for high impact and torsional loads typical of underground operation.

The power unit is a diesel engine with a power of about 550 hp, adapted to the requirements of mine operation and long loads without loss of service life. The control system implements continuous monitoring of key parameters: tire pressure, machine stability, fuel level, and the condition of main components, which increases the predictability of operation in confined spaces.

The operator's cabin is sealed and protected according to ROPS/FOPS standards. It is equipped with a climate control system and enhanced sound insulation, which is critical for long shifts in underground conditions where vibration and noise levels are significantly higher than in open-pit mines.
