The United Shipbuilding Corporation (OSK) has developed the IRV05 universal emergency rescue vessel project. It was presented at one of the sessions of the "Maritime Congress – Far East 2026".
Vladimir Rachin, Deputy Director of the Sales and Contracting Department for Civil Shipbuilding at OSK, delivered a report in which he emphasized the need to modernize the aging emergency rescue fleet. According to him, the IRV05 project can be used for this update.
The corporation's engineers developed technical documentation and created a 3D model of the vessel. They also conducted basin model tests, which confirmed its speed, icebreaking capability, and seaworthiness.
Purpose of the IRV05 project vessel:
- patrolling
- search and evacuation of distressed vessels
- towing of emergency objects
- firefighting on water
- liquidation of accident consequences
The vessel is equipped with a crane with a lifting capacity of 30 tons, a two-drum towing winch, and a stationary diving complex for operations at depths up to 60 m.

According to expert assessment, the IRV05 platform has potential for further development.
