The timber industry group "Sveza" has installed its own production scanner at a third-party customer's site for the first time, the company announced. The development replaced an imported system that ceased to be serviced after the manufacturer left the Russian market. The equipment has already been put into operation.
The new dry veneer scanner was created by Sveza SmartLine's engineering division. The system automatically determines product grade, recognizes and classifies more than 40 types of defects, distributes sheets into grade pockets, and generates reports for quality control. The scanner can be configured for the tasks of a specific enterprise.
The development is based on specialized domestic software and patented technologies. The equipment is manufactured and tested at Sveza's own site. After 2022, Russian enterprises massively faced restrictions in the maintenance and modernization of imported equipment, so such developments become critically important for maintaining production processes.
