The Ulyanovsk Aviastar plant has built a new Il-76MD-90A military transport aircraft. Footage appeared on social media.
Reportedly, the customer for the aircraft was the Border Service. Previously, such aircraft were only in service with the Russian Aerospace Forces.
Ulyanovsk Region Governor Alexey Russkikh noted that Aviastar was tasked with increasing production. For this purpose, new robotic machines were introduced at the Ulyanovsk plant.
OAK head Vadim Badeha stated that there was huge interest from foreign customers in the Il-76MD-90A. He did not specify which ones, but recently foreign media reported on Ilyushin's possible participation in supplying transport aircraft to India.
