Technologies created for the latest Russian Su-57 fighters can extend far beyond combat aviation. ODK presented a project for new power plants based on the AL-41 gas generator.
Power plants with a capacity of 25 to 42 MW are capable of providing electricity to industrial facilities, data centers, and remote areas, including northern territories.
The project is based on the AL-41ST-25 engine, created using aviation technologies from the Lyulka Design Bureau. It uses single-crystal blades, new generation heat-resistant materials, and additive technologies.
AL-41ST is a new generation engine and one of the most technologically advanced. Already today, the engine demonstrates high efficiency at a power of 25 MW with the potential for further growth up to 42 MW.
Currently, two prototypes of the AL-41ST-25 are being operated at the Arskaya compressor station in Tatarstan. In the future, such installations could become part of the Russian industrial generation system and replace foreign equipment in the energy sector.
The use of aviation units in the energy sector is a long-standing practice of ODK. For example, GTD-6RM engines based on D-30KU/KP for heavy Il-76 transport aircraft have accumulated more than 5 million hours in total during industrial operation.
