Esteo MX production launched at former Toyota plant in Russia: all-wheel drive, 197 horsepower, and three screens in the cabin

The assembly of the premium crossover, which is already being compared to the Porsche Macan in appearance, has started in St. Petersburg

A large-scale automotive production has been launched in St. Petersburg at the site where Toyota RAV4 and Camry were previously assembled. Now, the premium crossover Esteo MX is rolling off the assembly line at the Shushary plant. It has already been compared to the Porsche Macan due to its front-end design. The launch of production was announced by AGR-holding.

Many operations at the plant are automated, and the main assembly stages are controlled by a unified system. The Esteo MX itself is a mid-size crossover. In terms of size, it is slightly smaller than the Geely Monjaro: its length is 4775 mm, width is 1890 mm, and height is 1725 mm. The wheelbase is 2800 mm, and the ground clearance is 210 mm.

Under the hood is a 2.0-liter engine with 197 hp. It works in conjunction with a classic 8-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system.

The car has been specially adapted for Russian conditions. The Esteo MX features an extended winter package, and there is also remote control via an application.

The main feature of the interior is three screens on the front panel. In this regard, the crossover resembles the Geely Monjaro: instead of the usual classic panel, the driver and passenger get a large digital block, which immediately makes the interior visually more expensive and modern.
