At the Samara enterprise ODK-Kuznetsov, a high-tech galvanic production facility has started operating, capable of producing up to 3 million parts per year with a closed ecological cycle. The new capacities have allowed for the automation of key processes in manufacturing components for Tu-160 strategic bomber engines and RD-107A/RD-108A rocket engines.
The new galvanic complex has become one of the most modern sections of the plant. Here, the application of protective and hardening coatings is performed by automated lines, which practically eliminates the influence of the human factor and ensures stable product quality.
The production site is designed to produce about 3 million items annually. Such volumes are necessary to increase the pace of production of aircraft engines and components.
Special attention at the enterprise was paid to environmental safety. The facility operates a multi-stage air and water purification system. After filtration, wastewater is not discharged into the external environment but returns to the technological production cycle.
ODK-Kuznetsov notes that the modernization will increase the efficiency of parts production for promising aviation programs and reduce the burden on the environment.
