The Russian reconnaissance drone "Merlin-VR" (developed by AO "NII STT", Smolensk) is capable of flying a distance of 150 km without losing connection. The drone is practically invulnerable to enemy electronic warfare (EW) systems. This was stated by a Russian Armed Forces serviceman with the call sign Ryba.
It has a serious onboard defense system that suppresses "hunters" (attack drones), and there is also an evasion system.
The "Merlin-VR" is equipped with 90x optical and 200x digital zoom. With its help, the operator can see objects located up to 30 km away from the drone itself, the soldier concluded.
