An An-2 aircraft with eight people on board made an emergency landing in a forest area of Yakutia. The incident occurred on Tuesday, May 19, after the aircraft departed from the village of Tyoply Klyuch.
According to the press service of the regional EMERCOM department, the crew commander decided to return to the departure airport, but shortly after, communication with the aircraft was lost. Later, the crew provided the coordinates of the landing site. Passengers and crew members independently left the aircraft and began walking towards the settlement.
Preliminary reports indicate that no one on board was injured. Information on the condition of the people is being clarified.
Specialists from the regional search and rescue base and a medical team have already been dispatched from Yakutsk to the scene. Aviation and rescue units of the Russian EMERCOM have been put on high alert.
The circumstances of the incident are being established. An operational group is working at the scene. The estimated arrival time of the first rescuers depends on weather conditions and terrain passability.
