Fully Domestic Laser Against UAVs Demonstrated in Russia

The development by "Inferit Bezopasnost" company is capable of hitting drones within direct line of sight up to 1000 meters

At the CIPR-2026 conference, held from May 18 to May 21, 2026, in Nizhny Novgorod, the first fully domestic laser system for countering drones was presented. The installation is designed for detecting, tracking, and hitting UAVs within direct line of sight at a distance of up to 1000 meters.

The development was brought by "Inferit Bezopasnost" company, part of the "Softline" structure. According to the developers, the complex became the first system of its class, entirely created and produced in Russia.

The solution is designed for use as part of an echeloned defense system. The complex is aimed at protecting civil, industrial, and infrastructure facilities, including enterprises, logistics sites, and energy facilities.

Interest in laser systems for countering UAVs has significantly grown amid the proliferation of compact drones and the need to protect critical infrastructure. Such systems are considered an alternative to traditional air defense systems at short distances, especially in conditions where high accuracy of engagement and minimal risk of collateral damage are required.

The manufacturer has not yet disclosed the full technical characteristics of the complex and its official name. Some parameters remain classified, as the development pertains to critical infrastructure protection systems and UAV countermeasures.
