Tender for 270 Million: Almost Half-Century-Old Icebreaker "Magadan" to Undergo Dock Repair

The "Mudyug" type vessel ensures ship escort in the Far East

Rosmorport has announced an electronic auction for the dock repair of the diesel-electric icebreaker "Magadan" (type "Mudyug"), built in 1982. The contract value is almost 270 million rubles. This is confirmed by data from the unified information system (EIS) "Zakupki".

Applications for participation in the tender can be submitted until June 8. The contractor will be determined on June 18, 2026. The work completion period should not exceed 65 days.

The icebreaker is assigned to the port of Vladivostok. The repair location is Peter the Great Bay in the Sea of Japan. The vessel is on Rosmorport's balance sheet and provides icebreaking escort for ships in the Far East.

"Magadan"

The linear icebreaker (designed for long sea and ocean voyages, including along the Northern Sea Route) was built in Finland by order of the USSR. The series included 3 icebreakers: "Mudyug", "Dikson", and "Magadan". All of them are operated in Russia.
