Tandem of "Shtora" and "Sych": Russian military found an effective way to suppress enemy UAVs

Russian Ministry of Defence supplies parts for assembling new drones

Russian operators have started using the "Shtora" drone, based on the "Sych" drone, to detect and suppress enemy UAVs. This was reported by a Russian Armed Forces serviceman with the call sign Zelyony.

Due to fiber optic control, the "Shtora" itself is not detected or suppressed.

Initially, it was a ground-based system, then it was adapted for installation on a drone. The Russian Ministry of Defence supplies all necessary parts for assembling the "Shtora" drone, Zelyony noted.

The new device has already made about 10 combat sorties. The total flight time was about 20 hours, the fighter summarized.

The "Shtora" drone is equipped with an electronic warfare system. It suppresses control, data transmission, and navigation channels, depriving the enemy drone of communication with the operator. The EW operates in the frequency range used by most UAVs, including 433 MHz, 900 MHz, and 2.4 GHz.
