"A very modest share": AvtoVAZ sees no special prospects for electric vehicles

The number of electric vehicles will increase in large cities

The share of electric vehicles in Russia is too low, and the situation is not changing much yet. This opinion was expressed by AvtoVAZ CEO Maxim Sokolov.

There is a certain trend towards the development of electric mobility, but in our country, the share of electric vehicles is very modest.
Maxim Sokolov, CEO of AvtoVAZ

The Russian concern produces the serial electric car Lada e-Largus. There are experimental developments based on Lada Aura and Niva. However, their mass production is not yet planned.

Electric vehicles will develop in metropolitan agglomerations. If we talk about the entire territory of Russia, then this still raises big questions.
Maxim Sokolov, CEO of AvtoVAZ

The Lada e-Largus is produced in a passenger version (station wagon) and a commercial version (van). The model is equipped with an electric motor with a power of up to 150 hp, and the range is up to 400 km.

At the same time, the electric car develops a maximum speed of 145 km/h. The cost of the van in the basic configuration starts from 2.9 million rubles.
