World-Class Scientists Lead New DeepTech Laboratories at Central University

Teams of professors and students have already reported first discoveries

Central University has launched six new scientific laboratories in the field of deep technologies (DeepTech). They are headed by world-class scientists with high citation rates in scientific journals and extensive experience in fundamental and applied projects.

What the New Central University Laboratories Do

Central University has already named the researchers who will lead the new laboratories: among them are Andrey Somov, Alexey Orlov, Boris Fenyuk, Pavel Osinenko, Elena Kudryashova, and Vladimir Spokoyny.

Their work is related to intelligent sensor systems, computational biomedicine, molecular diagnostics, bioenergetics of microorganisms, secure AI, targeted therapy, predictive diagnostics, statistics, and machine learning.

The university emphasizes that developments should be transformed into working applied solutions.

First Results Are Already Available

The main goal of the project is to bridge the gap between fundamental science and real production. At the same time, Central University plans to use the capabilities of artificial intelligence to solve open scientific problems.

According to the university, the laboratories have already shown significant results at the launch stage. Joint teams of professors and students have made four scientific discoveries. One example is the development of a method to increase the accuracy of eye trackers in challenging conditions.

An eye tracker is a device that monitors eye movements. For this work, the team received the Best Paper Award for the best scientific paper at the conference.
