The dredging fleet of the Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport (Rosmorrechflot) has been deployed in the Ob-Irtysh basin to maintain the dimensions of the waterway. This was reported by the agency's press service.
Three dredgers are used on the basin's waterways: "Obskaya-103", "Obsky-720", and "Obsky-1006". Currently, the dredging fleet has excavated over 43 thousand cubic meters of soil.
Specialists from channel survey parties (involved in ensuring navigation safety) are studying the seabed relief and monitoring the work. 10 motor ships are on duty at backwaters and repair-and-layup points, the agency's press service summarized.
The "Obsky" series of dredgers (projects 23-110, 23-112, and 23-75) were built in the 1960s at a shipyard in Prague. Later, they were repeatedly repaired and serviced at Russian enterprises, including the Samussky Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant in the Tomsk region.
Characteristics of "Obsky-1006":
- Length — 66.09 m
- Displacement — 698 t
- Deadweight — 110.5 t
- Productivity — 1000 cubic meters/hour
