The range of the new Russian "Sarmat" missile complex is over 35,000 km. This was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Commander of the Strategic Missile Forces Sergey Karakaev added that the "Sarmat" is guaranteed to overcome existing and prospective missile defense systems.
According to him, the missile complex surpasses its predecessor "Voevoda" in flight range, throw weight, and readiness time for launch.
Today at 11:15 AM, the Strategic Missile Forces conducted a launch of the newest heavy liquid-propellant intercontinental ballistic missile "Sarmat". The launch was successful, the launch objective was achieved.
Putin added that the "Sarmat" will be on combat duty by the end of 2026 in the Uzhur formation. He noted that the "Sarmat" can move not only along a ballistic trajectory but also a suborbital one.
The "Sarmat" can be equipped with several hypersonic Avangard warheads. They can reach speeds of about Mach 27.
