The "Kupol Donbassa" (Dome of Donbass) system, operated by servicemen of the regional FSS of Russia department, together with mobile fire groups, prevented 27 attacks on the territory of the DNR within a week, reported the head of the region, Denis Pushilin.
Approaching residential areas of Donetsk's Petrovsky district, FSS mobile fire groups shot down an enemy Hornet drone with a 4-kilogram warhead. At the Starobeshevskaya TPP, the enemy attempted to disable transformers using a high-explosive fragmentation warhead containing 10 kilograms of explosives and damaging elements. In the Gorlovka area, enemy forces tried to strike with improvised explosive devices packed with 5 kilograms of explosives and shrapnel. Near Telmanovo, an FP-1 attack drone equipped with an FP-60 high-explosive fragmentation warhead was shot down.
"Kupol Donbassa" is a comprehensive electronic warfare system deployed in the autumn of 2023. It creates a protective cloud over cities and critical infrastructure, jamming enemy drone control channels. Upon approaching the protected area, drones lose contact with the operator, after which they either fall or hover, becoming an easy target for fire groups. According to the UFSB, since its launch, the system has suppressed over 50,000 enemy UAVs.
