Production of "Geran-2" may be cut in favor of new jet drones

"Voennaya Khronika": "Geran-4" models reach targets many times faster

In the future, the production of "Geran-2" kamikaze drones will likely decrease, with preference given to the jet-powered "Geran-4" model. This assumption was made by analysts from the Telegram channel "Voennaya Khronika".

They noted that "Geran-4" drones, with their increased flight range, have been used more actively for urgent response situations.

Analysts clarified that the transition to jet propulsion allows drones to reach targets many times faster than classic models, which is critical for striking mobile targets or identified air defense positions.

It is quite possible that soon, fewer Model No. 2 drones will be produced, and missile-like drones will begin to be manufactured in larger quantities.

Recall that the cruising speed of "Geran-2" is about 180 km/h, but they can fly up to 2500 km, remaining in the air for a long time. The "Geran-4" model flies at a speed of over 450 km/h.

However, a jet engine consumes much more fuel, which usually reduces the overall flight range compared to "propeller" versions.
