Russian Geranium strike drones have undergone a noticeable evolution – from simple noisy devices to more complex and efficient systems. This was stated by military expert, Captain of the first rank of the reserve Vasily Dandykin.
According to him, during the time of use, a whole line of drones has been formed, including modernized versions and faster options. The devices have become less noticeable in sound, have the ability to change the flight path and act more flexibly in the face of opposition.

Dandykin noted that the tactics of use have also changed. If earlier UAVs were used as a means of the first strike before missiles, now they are able to perform tasks independently – from suppressing air defense systems to hitting objects.
In addition, according to Dandykin, the combat load of drones could have increased. He also suggested the development of elements of group use, when several devices coordinate actions with each other.
A few days ago, an interesting study of the filling of "Geraniums" appeared on the Web. It discovered a full-fledged passive module for receiving and processing radio signals, the same devices are used by Kh-31P missiles. In fact, the drone is capable of operating on radar stations.
