Moscow Parking tow trucks have taken over 23 thousand cars to impound lots. The vehicles either had no license plates or had fake ones. Moscow Deputy Mayor Maksim Liksutov revealed the details.
According to him, such measures are taken by decision of the anti-terrorism commission. Such vehicles can pose a threat – for example, they might be stolen or used in illegal activities.
In total, since 2017, over 23 thousand such cars have been sent to special impound lots. After evacuation, the vehicles are checked by the police. If no violations are found, the owner can retrieve the vehicle.
The car brands most frequently impounded were: BMW – 2,764 cases, Mercedes-Benz – 1,972, Toyota – 1,633, KIA – 1,470, and Volkswagen – 1,112.
