"Easy money" on marketplaces turned out to be a trap: the Ministry of Internal Affairs warned Russians about a new scam

Scammers promise a percentage for simple tasks, then demand to arrange an installment plan and take the money

Advertisements for "easy part-time jobs" without experience and investment are increasingly turning out to be a scam. A person is offered simple tasks and quick earnings, but in the end, they may be left with debt and without the promised payments. The press center of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs warned about the new scheme.

According to the agency, scammers post ads in messengers and channels about "earning money" on marketplaces. This usually involves performing "simple tasks": writing reviews, boosting sales, buying and reselling goods, processing orders, or selling gift certificates.

For such actions, a fixed percentage of the task amount is promised.

After a person agrees, they are sent instructions. At this stage, scammers may demand that an installment plan for the product be arranged and a screenshot of the available limit be sent.

As a result, the money goes to the scammers, and the promised payment is not received.
