Within the framework of Rostec's strategic session, held with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science at Sechenov University, an adapted KAMAZ vehicle for severely wounded combat veterans was presented. The development was showcased by the Kama Automobile Plant, which adapted its flagship KAMAZ-54901 model to the needs of people with limited mobility.
The main feature of the vehicle is a system designed for independent and comfortable driving by people with disabilities. Specifically, automatic remote door opening and closing, a hydraulic lifting mechanism that allows safe transfer of a passenger into the cabin using a remote control, and a manual control system have been implemented. At the same time, the basic characteristics and functions of the tractor unit are maintained at the level of the K5 generation production version.
According to the participants of the demonstration, including combat veterans who tested the vehicle, the car showed ease of use and adaptability to real everyday tasks.
