An adapted car for people with limited mobility, allowing the driver to independently load a wheelchair and drive the car without assistance, was presented in Russia. The development, based on the Moskvich 3 crossover, was showcased by Rostec at a strategic session at Sechenov University dedicated to modern Russian technologies for supporting people with disabilities.
The crossover was equipped with a manual control system for drivers with mobility limitations. A special luggage module for transporting a wheelchair is located on the car's roof. The wheelchair is lifted and unloaded using a built-in winch.
Thanks to this design, the driver can independently get behind the wheel, lift the chair into the cargo compartment, and leave the car without the help of escorts.
The development was presented as one of the domestic projects in the field of adaptive transport and solutions for improving the mobility of people with disabilities.
