Production of 220-ton hydrogen mining dump trucks launched in Moscow

Rostec and BELAZ launched a joint venture "Roblex"

Rostec and BELAZ opened a joint plant "Roblex" in Moscow, which will develop and implement hydrogen-powered mining equipment and unmanned systems. The enterprise will produce two types of machines.

The first is an unmanned dump truck based on BELAZ-7513R with a carrying capacity of 130 tons. It is equipped with machine vision systems, lidars, and centralized control, allowing it to operate around the clock without a driver and reduce downtime.

The second project is a hydrogen dump truck with a carrying capacity of 220 tons based on BELAZ-7530. The machine will receive a hybrid power plant with fuel cells and lithium-ion batteries. This will reduce fuel costs by 30–50% compared to diesel counterparts with zero CO₂ emissions.

Dmitry Lelikov, Deputy General Director of Rostec, noted that pilot operation of the equipment at active quarries will begin in 2026.

The main purpose of the new enterprise is to provide the domestic mining industry with environmentally friendly and highly automated solutions.

Rostec expects that such solutions will reduce operating costs and improve safety at quarries.
