A scheme, associated with a new Russian development – a cruise missile or a jet loitering munition called "Banderol" – has appeared in the public domain. Its speed can reach 450–500 km/h.
Judging by the footage, the product belongs to compact systems of about 120–152 mm caliber and is designed to engage armored vehicles, fortified objects, and targets beyond direct visibility.
In terms of layout, "Banderol" differs from classic cruise missiles. It combines features of a guided munition and a jet drone – a compact body and, presumably, a small-sized turbojet engine.
Final characteristics and application parameters have not yet been disclosed. Military analysts suggested that the fuselage length of "Banderol" is about 5 m, and it was made with stealth elements. The wingspan of the retractable wing is 2.2 m. Fuel capacity is 50–65 kg.
The missile's guidance system is satellite-based, relying on an eight-channel GLONASS/GPS signal receiver "Kometa-M8".
