Russian airlines will require 644 new passenger aircraft by 2030. These estimates were presented by the Ministry of Transport in materials for the speech of the head of the department, Andrey Nikitin.
The greatest demand is for medium-haul liners – 332 aircraft. Another 210 aircraft will be needed for regional and local routes, 98 for short-haul flights, and only four for long-haul routes. This primarily refers to Russian models – MC-21, SJ-100, and Il-114-300.
Currently, the fleet of Russian airlines numbers over a thousand passenger aircraft, with a significant portion of them being foreign-made. This makes the task of fleet renewal key for the industry.
According to the current aviation industry development program, almost a thousand civilian aircraft are planned for production by 2030. The Ministry of Transport emphasized that it is important not only to produce aircraft but also to ensure their maintenance and repair.
