The state will compensate producers of rare metals for discounts granted to buyers

The subsidy will cover up to 30% of the product price excluding VAT

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has announced a competitive selection process for granting subsidies to Russian producers of rare and rare-earth metals. The funds are intended to reimburse discounts that producers provide to buyers of their products.

The ministry explained that the maximum discount may not exceed 30% of the price approved by the sales policy (excluding VAT). This support measure is being implemented as part of the state program "Development of Industry and Increasing Its Competitiveness," and is also included in the national project "New Materials and Chemistry."

Earlier, in Donbas, five deposits and fifteen occurrences of rare-earth metals were discovered, explored back in the Soviet period. In 2026, a state geological exploration program will begin, which will make it possible to clarify the boundaries of the deposits, determine reserves, and assess the economic feasibility of their industrial development. Only after that will it be possible to substantively discuss the participation of private investors and the start of mining on an industrial scale.
