The Tor air defense system will be redesigned to increase effectiveness

The developer will take into account the experience of combat operations in the Middle East

The Tor-M2 surface-to-air missile systems (SAM) will be modernized taking into account the analysis of combat operations in the Middle East. This is stated in a report by the Centre for Analysis of World Arms Trade.

The Centre's analysts emphasized that the Tor-M2 is precisely the system that meets the requirements for a modern air defense system primarily focused on intercepting drones and ballistic missiles.

The system's capabilities make it possible to shoot down both small drones such as Mavic and Raven, as well as projectiles from HIMARS and Olkha multiple launch rocket systems.

The key advantage of the system is its record-fast deployment in three minutes, per-second updates of air situation data, and the ability to fire on the move.

Recall that the Tor-M2 is produced by IEMZ Kupol, which is part of the Almaz-Antey concern. The family of systems is used to defend military and infrastructure facilities, and the Tor-M2KM module is also used on naval platforms.
