From Land to Sea: the Latest Tor Air Defense System Has Officially Become Cross-Service

A New Version of Anti-Aircraft Defense - Tor-MF - Is Being Developed for the Russian Navy

The Tor surface-to-air missile system (SAM) has become a cross-service platform, and a new version of the system is already being developed for ships of the Russian Navy. This was announced by Fanil Ziyatdinov, Director General of the Kupol Izhevsk Electromechanical Plant (part of the Almaz-Antey Aerospace Defence Concern).

He recalled that until recently, the Tor SAM systems had been serving the interests of military air defense. The systems are used to protect the most important facilities, the plant's CEO emphasized.

A Tor-MF SAM system integrated into ship architecture is also being developed for the fleet. Thus, our system has become cross-service.

Military analysts explained that the Tor-M2KM is a new modular modification of the Tor-M2, distinguished by the absence of a chassis.

The new system is capable of engaging targets at ranges of up to 15 km and firing simultaneously at four targets.
