In three months, Max sent nine times more messages than in three quarters of 2025

The application's daily audience exceeded 80 million users

In the first quarter of 2026, users of the Russian national messenger Max sent more than 90 billion messages and made over 3 billion calls. This is nine times more in terms of messages and one and a half times more in terms of calls than in all three quarters of 2025, according to the developers.

In total, since the launch of the application, users have sent more than 100 billion messages and made 5.2 billion calls. As of the beginning of April, 110 million people have registered in Max, and the messenger's daily audience has exceeded 80 million users.

Earlier, Max stated that they do not have access to user dialogues: conversations are encrypted, and data is protected. Suspicions may have arisen due to the fact that machine learning technologies are used in the messenger — but they are responsible not for the content of conversations, but for the quality of communication, the company claims. The system analyzes connection parameters in real time and automatically adjusts the call (switches the server or changes the codec if the quality drops), while the algorithms work impersonally and do not have access to the conversations themselves.
