In the Arkhangelsk region, the owner of a Lada Granta purchased in 2021 won 2.8 million rubles from AvtoVAZ due to sources of corrosion on the new car. The court recognized that the defect is of a manufacturing nature and is not related to the operating conditions.
The driver noticed the corrosion during the warranty period. The dealer eliminated the defect upon request, but it reappeared.
The car manufacturer was charged with the cost of the car, the difference in price, the cost of additional equipment, penalties, and a fine — a total of 2.8 million rubles.
Representatives of the plant insisted on the operational nature of the damage and asked to reduce the penalties, but the appellate court upheld the decision. The court decision has entered into legal force.
