Starting September 1, 2026, passengers in Russia will be able to confirm their eligibility for discounted travel through the Max messenger. This was announced by the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation. The changes in legislation are aimed at making passenger transport more convenient and technologically advanced, the department said.
The main innovation is the ability to confirm benefits when buying tickets directly through the Max messenger. This is expected to speed up and simplify the process of booking a trip.
In addition, carriers will be allowed to sell tickets using biometrics — if the company has the technical capability and makes such a decision.
The new rules expand payment methods and add modern technological tools for buying tickets on public transport, the department emphasized. At the same time, all the usual options remain as before.
