USC SСTBE Engineers Presented "HyClever" Alkali-Free Hydrogen Generators

The devices are already in use in Russia and Kazakhstan, and will soon be delivered to the Republic of Belarus

Industrial hydrogen generators operating without the use of alkali were demonstrated for the first time in Kazan. The installations were presented by the United Shipbuilding Corporation's enterprise – the Special Design and Technological Bureau for Electrochemistry with an experimental plant.

The HyClever line is the result of a large-scale conversion: the bureau's defense electrochemical developments were adapted to the needs of civil energy. Engineers abandoned aggressive alkaline electrolytes in favor of a patented membrane technology. This resulted in increased efficiency, reduced weight and size, and eliminated risks to personnel during operation.

Russian developers have proposed a solution that not only competes with foreign counterparts, but also surpasses them in a number of parameters. The bureau emphasized that the alkali-free scheme is not an evolution, but a leap that opens the way to safe and compact hydrogen production directly at the point of consumption.

HyClever equipment is already ready for mass production. The first potential customers are energy companies, transport enterprises and distributed generation facilities. The introduction of the installations will reduce logistics costs, eliminate the need to transport cylinder hydrogen, and accelerate the creation of a local hydrogen infrastructure in the regions. "HyClever" generators are already in use in Russia and Kazakhstan. In the near future, it is planned to send two new batches of these devices to the Republic of Belarus.
