An autonomous mobile station has been presented in Russia that drives up to an electric vehicle for recharging. The fuel division of Rosatom is engaged in the development and commercial launch of the project. The new product was shown at an industry forum dedicated to green energy and electric transport.
The device moves on a wheeled platform and operates within a given area. The driver does not need to look for a free charging station. It is enough to open the application on the phone, call the robot, wait for its arrival and manually connect the cable to the machine connector. After the process is completed, the station independently returns to the base. There, it replenishes its energy reserves via a pantograph with a capacity of up to 22 kilowatts.
The developers expect that the technology will be implemented by management companies of residential and business complexes, as well as charging network operators.
Mobile gas stations solve the problem of a shortage of stationary points and help to use parking space more efficiently.
The state corporation emphasized that the demand for flexible solutions is growing, and unmanned modules allow you to quickly expand the infrastructure without capital construction and complex approvals.
