Employees of the Smirnov Design Bureau discovered a 1951 Moskvich-400-420A convertible in the Krasnodar Territory and carefully restored it. The car has joined the ranks of restored rarities: now they are asking 8.5 million rubles for it.
During the work, the car was equipped with all the missing parts and authentic spare parts. The awning was recreated and the interior decoration was restored. Most of the external decorative elements were re-chromed, and the engine was overhauled. In addition, the specialists of the Design Bureau found and restored the original Opel wheels, which were extremely rare on early Moskvich models.
Standard Moskvich-400 sedans, of which 216 thousand were produced, can still be found. But a convertible is a great rarity: the circulation of the open version was only about 18 thousand copies, and it is almost impossible to get such a car in a decent collectible condition.
