A detachment of ships of the Pacific Fleet, consisting of the corvette "Gromkiy", the diesel-electric submarine "Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky" and the sea tug "Andrey Stepanov", made a business call at the port of Tanjung Priok in Jakarta. Russian ships were met by representatives of the Russian Embassy and the command of the local naval district.
During the berthing, visits to the ships by servicemen of the Indonesian Navy and local residents are planned. Next week, Russian sailors will take part in joint maneuvers with their Indonesian colleagues — the ships will practice interaction and conduct communications training.
The "Gromkiy" corvette is armed with "Uran" anti-ship missiles and the "Redut" anti-aircraft missile system, as well as a 100-mm A-190 artillery installation and the "Paket-NK" torpedo complex. The "Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky" submarine of project 636.3 "Varshavyanka" carries high-precision "Caliber" cruise missiles on board, capable of hitting ground and surface targets at long ranges. The sea tug "Andrey Stepanov" is equipped with a helicopter pad for receiving deck aviation and a crane with a lifting capacity of 20 tons for independent cargo operations at sea.
