Gulnara Khasyanova, who headed Russia's largest microelectronics manufacturer "Mikron" (part of the "Element" group) since 2016, is leaving the post of CEO. She is replaced by Sergey Ranchin, who previously headed the NRC "Kurchatov Institute" - NIISI. For Ranchin, this is a return: he worked at "Mikron" for 27 years, rising from a process engineer to deputy CEO.
"\"Mikron\" is my home factory, I see my key task in the near future as increasing production volumes and maximizing all growth opportunities.
"Mikron" is the only microelectronics manufacturer in Russia with topological standards up to 90 nm, producing more than 1000 type designations of products. At the enterprise, more than half of the ultra-pure chemical materials, special electronic gases, and equipment used in the process have been replaced with domestic ones — and all this without stopping continuous production, which is considered unprecedented for the global semiconductor industry.
It was previously reported that "Mikron" will receive 1.56 billion rubles from the Ministry of Industry and Trade for the development of an analogue of the American ARCHER 10 XT for the production of chips. The project deadlines are tight: to be in time by 2029, a ready-made scientific base and flawless work with component supplies are needed.
