Rostec visually demonstrated an important feature of the universal armored engineering vehicle (UBIM) — a habitable compartment for sappers. Three specialists were placed in the internal compartment in full protective gear.
There was also enough space in the vehicle for a service dog and metal detectors. Comfort in the habitable compartment will be provided by air conditioning and a ventilation system.
As a reminder, in serial engineering obstacle clearing vehicles IMR-3M and recovery vehicles BREM-1, there are places only for the crew. Nevertheless, sappers can be transported by the BMR-3M mine clearance vehicle.
UBIM was created on the chassis of the T-90 tank. The equipment includes a bulldozer blade, a traction winch, and a boom with an excavator bucket, which can be replaced with a hydraulic hammer if necessary.
Television and thermal imaging observation channels will provide the crew with all-day use of weapons. One UBIM can replace BREM, IMR, and BMR at once.
