The newest fiber optic drone "Knyaz Vladimir" with a range of 50 km was shown in photos for the first time

A special design allows the UAV to take off vertically and lie on its wing

Specialists from the Nizhny Novgorod SPC "Ushkuynik" have developed a new fiber optic drone "Knyaz Vladimir Svyatoslavovich" (KVS) with a range of up to 50 km. The company's CEO, Alexey Chadaev, published photos of the new product for the first time and revealed its technical characteristics.

The unusual metal structure around the drone immediately catches the eye. However, it is this oval ring that allows the KVS to take off vertically and immediately lie on its wing.

We were solving the problem of sending a standard copter with 10-inch motors and a payload like the KVN to the appropriate distance - and we solved it. Again, the KVS drone is not a wunderwaffe for a wunderprice.
Alexey Chadaev, head of SPC "Ushkuynik"

Chadaev added that "Knyaz Vladimir" was built as part of the ecosystem of fiber optic drones - "Knyaz Vandal" and "Knyaz Veshchy Oleg".
