A pilot project has been launched in Chuvashia that could change the rules of the game for farmers. Rosselkhozbank, together with regional authorities, has started paying subsidies in digital rubles — now, instead of waiting a month, the money arrives in a matter of hours.
The scenario is simple: a farmer leases a tractor, combine harvester, or attachment, makes the first payment — then the system does everything. A smart contract automatically checks the documents, confirms the registration of the equipment, and immediately transfers the subsidy to a digital wallet.
The key difference is complete control. Each unit of equipment gets a "digital twin", and the funds are protected from misuse: they can only be spent as intended.
The project is being implemented with the participation of Rosselkhozbank and is already considered one of the first real-world cases of using the digital ruble in the economy. If the pilot project is scaled up, farmers across the country will be able to forget about lengthy approvals — the money will arrive almost instantly.
