Baltic Fleet practiced repelling an air strike

Su-30SM2 and Mi-8 played the role of attacking aircraft

Joint exercises to repel an air strike have been completed at the Baltic Naval Base. Duty shifts of control centers, ship air defense crews, and crews of naval aviation of the Baltic Fleet practiced actions in a single circuit.

More than ten surface ships acted as defenders - small missile ships, boats, small anti-submarine ships and minesweepers. Their crews honed their skills in detecting and destroying aerial targets on approach to the base.

The raid of a mock enemy was simulated by multifunctional Su-30SM2 fighters and Mi-8 helicopters of the Baltic Fleet naval aviation. Shipborne air defense systems were brought to full readiness: operators quickly found and identified targets, and the calculations conditionally destroyed them at the line of fire opening.

Special attention was paid to the management of air defense forces. Participants practiced distributing targets and setting fire missions through various communication channels while protecting the base point. All tasks were completed as normal.
