Russian companies have increased business correspondence by email due to massive disruptions in Telegram. In the first two weeks of March 2026, the volume of sent emails increased by 36% year-on-year and reached 625.3 million.
Business quickly redistributed communications in favor of more stable channels. Retail, IT companies, and e-commerce players increased email distribution most actively.
Market participants consider email as a reliable way to maintain sales, customer service, and internal processes during messenger interruptions.
Most organizations use mass mailing services, while only 13.7% of companies use their own corporate domains. At the same time, demand is growing for domestic solutions for teamwork and corporate communication, including VK WorkSpace, Express, and "Pachka."
For critical tasks, businesses often connect SMS mailings and phone calls, combining communication channels. It is likely that with unstable messenger operation, the role of email will remain as a basic tool for business communications.
