The former Deputy Director of the Kalashnikov Concern for Procurement and Logistics has been charged with fraud on a particularly large scale. He has been arrested and is being held in one of the pre-trial detention centers in Moscow.

This concerns a crime under Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, committed by an organized group "as part of the supply of protective equipment for the needs of the Ministry of Defense" of the Russian Federation under a state contract.

In February 2026, a court in Moscow arrested a colleague of the new defendant in the criminal case. Ksenia Gerashchenko, who held the position of former director for procurement and logistics at the concern, was accused of abuse of power (Article 201.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

According to preliminary investigation data, fraud was committed during the execution of a state defense order. Gerashchenko is also being held in a Moscow pre-trial detention center.

During an internal audit, it was revealed that in 2023, the Kalashnikov Concern concluded 10 contracts with one contractor. The deadline for the contracts was October of the same year.

However, the obligations under these contracts were never fulfilled. The state may have suffered damage "on a particularly large scale" due to the appropriation of a subsidy from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
