The group of companies "Novosibirsk Plant of Equipment" (NZO) increased product output by 46% and accelerated the production cycle by 1.5 times after implementing lean technologies. The results of the transformation were presented to the region's Minister of Economic Development, Svetlana Sharpf.
Workers prepare the cable for the shift in advance, which accelerated the supply of materials and reduced waiting time by 40 minutes. The redistribution of warehouse staff duties freed up another 30 minutes of working time.
Additionally, the plant implemented the "5S" system — storage areas for tools were marked out and equipment sets were standardized. This reduced employees' unnecessary movement by another 30 minutes per shift.
When entering the project, we planned to increase output by 30–40%. And we achieved it. A tremendous amount of work was done; in particular, we completely reconfigured the operation of the paint shop and eliminated most of the losses. Going forward, we still have to fine-tune all processes.
The group produces power equipment with voltages of up to 35 kV — packaged transformer substations, mining cells, and control cabinets. Annual output exceeds 600 units with deliveries across Russia.
