"A war against our industry": AvtoVAZ sharply denounced rumors about a switch to a four-day workweek

The plant called Mash's information false and demanded a retraction

AvtoVAZ issued a sharp official statement, refuting information about a possible switch to a shortened workweek. The company stated that the enterprise has no plans whatsoever to change its schedule, and the workforce will continue to work under the usual five-day regime with full pay.

The reason for the statement was a publication by Mash, which, in the automaker's view, spread false information. It said that the plant's employees would be transferred to a four-day workweek allegedly because of production cuts amid collapsing demand for Lada.

At AvtoVAZ, they believe that the replication of fake reports by dozens of Telegram channels bears signs of coordinated activity, destabilizes the situation in labor collectives, and causes damage to domestic industry.

Such false reports destabilize the situation in labor collectives and inflict real damage on domestic industry, which is developing under conditions of unprecedented external challenges. ‹...› We repeat: AvtoVAZ has no plans to switch to a shortened workweek, and the enterprise's workforce will continue normal five-day work with full compensation for their labor.
