Many Russian women have become interested in drone technology. They are undergoing free training as part of the federal project "Personnel for UAS." This is confirmed by the results of a study conducted by University 2035.

Today, every third student in the federal project "Personnel for UAS" is a woman.
Alexey Stepanov, Director of the UAS Competence Center at University 2035

According to him, unmanned aviation is becoming attractive to both students and established professionals. There is a catastrophic shortage of personnel in the industry. This includes engineering instructors, programmers, pilot-operators, and data analysts, Stepanov added.

Which areas do women choose:

  • drone operation (67.6%)
  • creation and modification of unmanned systems and software (24.3%)
  • production of aircraft (8%)

University 2035 stated that after receiving education in the field of UAS, some women are opening their own enterprises for the production of UAVs.

The study involved more than 12 thousand people who have been trained in the field of UAS. About 29% of them are women. Most of the graduates of such programs were in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Samara, Nizhny Novgorod regions, Moscow and the Moscow region.
