The Ministry of Internal Affairs has prepared a draft government decree, which from July 1 will oblige foreign citizens from visa-free countries to submit an electronic application before entering Russia. RIA Novosti has reviewed the document.
Currently, such foreigners have a choice: notify about entry in digital format or submit a paper application. According to the new rules, the electronic application will become mandatory — in addition to it, registration in the Unified Identification and Authentication System (ESIA) and provision of a photograph will be required.
At the same time, it is proposed to extend the experiment on testing the rules of entry and exit until the end of 2027.
